3 Cool Houseparenting Jobs to Check Out in July

As much of the country battles the heat of summer, our houseparent job board is full of cool jobs in house parenting at employers across the country. What makes them cool? First, no matter where you work, houseparenting is a unique job description that is guaranteed to be rewarding and challenging in ways you’d never dreamed. It’s also a chance to pursue a lifestyle change and work with your spouse and even your own children. Many houseparenting roles offer great benefits, generous time off, and free room and board.

Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children
Multiple Locations, Oklahoma

Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC) is the largest provider of private, not-for-profit, residential childcare in the state, with campuses in Madill, Owasso, and Edmond, OK.

The starting salary is $30,000 per individual houseparent ($60,000 per couple), and the total compensation package includes health insurance, life insurance, retirement and much more. Houseparents oversee the children in the cottage atone of our campuses and is responsible for their day-to-day care, guidance and development.

House Parents at Henry & William Evans Home for Children, Inc.
Winchester, VA

Work with your spouse in a state-licensed (not religiously affiliated) group home in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The Henry& William Evans Home for Children was founded in 1977 and has served over500 children who are homeless or otherwise in need. The salary is $33,000 per person and schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off. Qualifications include a HighSchool Diploma or equivalent and a minimum six months experience working with children.

Lebanon, IN

Indiana United MethodistChildren’s Home has been serving youth in crisis for more than 100 years. As a family teacher couple, you and your spouse will received specialized training in the Teaching-Family model and help to provide children in need a therapeutic, family-style, non-institutional home environment. Couples receive a combined salary of $117,000.
